Nicklas Bendtner scored a late equaliser and converted the decisive penalty to give Wolfsburg the German Supercup title over Bayern Munich on Saturday.
Bendtner made it 1-1 in the 89th minute to send the match straight into the penalty shootout, with no extra time.
All five Wolfsburg players scored from the spot, while their goalkeeper Koen Casteels made an acrobatic save with his foot to deny Bayern’s Xabi Alonso.
Arjen Robben scored for Bayern in the 49th minute but their coach Pep Guardiola remained winless in the German Supercup in three attempts.
The Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal made his debut for Bayern, when sent on to the field after 74 minutes. He was booked eight minutes later and scored from the first penalty shot.
