Inter director Piero Ausilio has made it clear that an agreement with Wolfsburg over the transfer of Ivan Perisic is still far away.
The Serie A outfit are keen to strengthen their attack following the
departure of Xherdan Shaqiri to Stoke City and have earmarked Perisic as
the perfect addition.
Head coach Roberto Mancini stated on Wednesday that he is confident the deal will completed shortly, yet Wolfsburg seem to have no intention of letting go of the 26-year-old withot putting up a fight.
"We are not hiding the fact that we like Perisic," Ausilio told
reporters. "We are keeping a close eye on his situation at Wolfsburg.
"But at the moment we are not on the same page as Wolfsburg."
Ausilio then went on to stress that Inter will definitely sign a new
attacker, regardless of whether they can agree terms with Wolfsburg over
Perisic.
"Either way, I can confirm that we will definitely sign another attacker now that Xherdan Shaqiri has been sold to Stoke City."
