The outgoing Fifa president was showered with fake cash by the British man as he held a press conference on Monday and is facing charges of trespassing
Comedian Simon Brodkin has been charged with trespassing by police in Switzerland after interrupting a press conference held by Fifa president Sepp Blatter.
The British man, 38, halted proceedings by showering fake bank notes over the head of football's world governing body on Monday.
A statement from a police spokesperson read: "He will be charged for trespassing because he wasn't allowed to enter the building.
"If there will be a trial it is still to be decided by the prosecutor. Trespassing in Switzerland is just prosecuted by request like other minor crimes."
Brodkin - who is known by his stage name Lee Nelson - has performed a number of stunts, including invading Kanye West's set at Glastonbury earlier this summer.
Blatter has been at the centre of the ongoing Fifa corruption controversy, which culminated in the indictment of 14 football figures by the FBI in May.
The aftermath of the arrests in Zurich led to Blatter announcing he was standing down as head of Fifa and his press conference on Monday was to reveal the election date will be on February 26, 2016.
