Crystal Palace are poised to sign Connor Wickham after agreeing a fee of around £8m for the Sunderland striker.
Wickham, 22, who joined Sunderland from Ipswich in June 2011 for a similar fee, has been a long-standing transfer target for Palace having attempted to sign him last January when Tony Pulis was in charge.
Despite Wickham signing a four-year contract in December, Palace appear to have got their man having upped their offer.
Wickham will be their fourth arrival of the summer after Yohan Cabaye from Paris Saint-Germain, Alex McCarthy from Queens Park Rangers and Patrick Bamford on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
