Costa was linked with a move to Chelsea in January

Shakhtar Donetsk have confirmed that the Brazil midfielder Douglas Costa will move to Bayern Munich for €30m (£21.3m).
A statement on the Ukrainian club’s website on Wednesday revealed that the 24-year-old has agreed terms with the German champions.
“Shakhtar Donetsk and Bayern Munich
have agreed all the necessary formalities regarding Douglas Costa’s
move to the German club. The transfer fee for the Brazilian midfielder
is €30m,” read the statement.
“Shakhtar thanks Douglas for the time spent in the team and wishes him every success with the new club.”
Costa was a target for Chelsea
in the January transfer window before they eventually opted to sign
Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina instead. He missed a penalty in Brazil’s
quarter-final defeat to Paraguay in the Copa América and leaves Shakhtar
having joined them from Grêmio in 2010.
“Hello, I come here to announce that my story in @fcshakhtar is over,” Costa posted on his Instagram account.
“We achieved many things together, but we cannot forget the losses
which served to our growth. My sincerely thanks for received me so well,
since the day I arrived. And I’m sure was the most correct choice that I
made five years ago when I decided to join Shakhtar. It was an honour
to wear this victorious shirt!
“I hope we can return to our home Donetsk as soon as possible.
Although it is very hard to say, see you soon! I love you guys and will
bring all you in my heart wherever I am.”
