The Spanish club have already had a bid rejected for
the midfielder and are also targeting a move for Dortmund striker Ciro
Immobile
Sevilla’s sporting director Monchi has revealed the club remain in negotiations with Stoke City over a move for Steven N’Zonzi. The Spanish side had a bid for the 26-year-old Frenchman rejected in June, with Potters chief executive Tony Scholes claiming that the offer was “nowhere near our valuation”.
Sevilla remain keen on a deal for the midfielder, although Monchi admits he is open to exploring moves for other potential targets.
“We are negotiating, we are in the fight,” he told reporters.
“We have less and less leeway. If N'Zonzi or Stoke don't think that we can offer what they want, we will look for other possibilities. That's why we've been working all season.”
Borussia Dortmund striker Ciro Immobile is also on Sevilla’s list of targets following Carlos Bacca’s departure to AC Milan earlier in July.
“We are looking to strengthen our attack and we have a lot of names. We are trying to bring in important names because we are losing 28 goals with Bacca,” said Monchi.
“If I start throwing out names we will have 15 or 16. Immobile is a proven player and he’s a proven player who has scored goals, but he's not the only name.
“We are working with a few options, but there's nothing definitive.”
