Watford confirm Behrami signing

The Hornets, who broke their record transfer fee when they spent £6 million on Etienne Capoue, have now signed the 30-year-old Switzerland midfielder on a three-year deal
Watford have confirmed the arrival of midfielder Valon Behrami from Hamburg on a three-year deal.

Behrami leaves the Bundesliga side after just one season, having joined from Napoli last summer.

The Switzerland international, who has won 52 caps in 11 years, also spent three years at West Ham between 2008 and 2011, before moving on to Fiorentina.
The Hornets have already spent a club record transfer fee of £6 million on Tottenham midfielder Etienne Capoue and continue to be linked with his Spurs team-mate Benjamin Stambouli.

Behrami becomes the newly promoted Premier League club's latest signing of the summer window after also securing the services of defender Jose Holebas from Roma.

Holebas had cast doubt on the move to Vicarage Road despite both the Hornets and his former employers in Italy confirming a deal had been agreed, but the signing was completed last week and he was given a run-out in the club's friendly against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

He was joined by fellow new arrivals Sebastian Prodl, the German centre-back who moved from Werder Bremen, and goalkeeper Giedrius Arlauskis, who arrived from Steaua Bucharest.
